Location: Hillside Community Church, Golden, CO 80401

This class is open to everyone who has a heart to serve and minister to First Responders! You do NOT have to currently be a Chaplain/Peer Support to attend.
Learning how to effectively serve your first responders and your community can be done by Chaplains, Church Leaders, Non-Profit Volunteers, and Police/First Responder Peer Support Team Members. Chaplains provide a vital service to law enforcement, fire departments, and other emergency responders. Not only do they support these professionals, they bring comfort to people displaced by disaster or victimized by crime.
But, WHO TRAINS THE CHAPLAINS? Often well-meaning pastors and ordained ministers must learn through the school of hard knocks. In addition, they often have the disadvantage of not understanding the culture and stresses of law enforcement and emergency responders. The realities faced daily by police, firefighters and paramedics differ markedly from the routines of most pastors. Yet with training, this gap can be bridged.
The First Responders Chaplaincy Training equips pastors, volunteers, peer support team members, and first responders to support professional protectors and their families in relevant ways. It also gives insight into how chaplains can partner with responders to serve and comfort the community. Attendees will receive an introduction into the perspective of law enforcers and emergency professionals.
Topics:
• Role of the Chaplain
• Introduction to Ministry to First Responders
• Suicide Prevention & Awareness
• Stress Management Techniques
• Introduction to CISM & PTSD
• Crisis Processing Applications
• Death Notifications
• Protector Orientation
• Coping Techniques for the First Responder
• And Much More!
Who Should Attend?
• Chaplains
• Peer Support Team Members
• Police, EMS, Military, Fire, and Corrections Officers
• Pastors and Licensed Ministers
• Law Enforcement leadership desiring to upgrade or start a chaplaincy program
• Anyone desiring to minister to and support first responders
Certificates:
Attendees will receive a certificate of completion after the training Note: This training does NOT certify anyone as a Chaplain.

At Rocky Mountain Police and Fire Chaplains, we serve as one team with one purpose. Though we operate across different agencies, regions, and roles, we are united by a shared calling to care for those who protect and serve. Our strength is found not in individual effort, but in collective commitment, mutual trust, and a common mission.
One team means we communicate clearly, support one another fully, and respond with unity and humility. We recognize that no single chaplain stands alone. We carry the work together, share responsibility, and remain accountable to the mission and to each other.
One purpose means our focus remains clear. We exist to provide compassionate, consistent, and culturally competent chaplaincy care to law enforcement, fire service professionals, and their families. Every decision, response, and relationship is guided by this purpose.
As we move into 2026, One Team One Purpose calls us to greater alignment, deeper collaboration, and renewed commitment. Together, we will show up with integrity, readiness, and care, serving not for recognition, but for the good of those entrusted to us.
