CHAPLAIN CORNER

Improving Chaplain Agency Awareness by Kent Higgins

IMPROVING CHAPLAIN AGENCY AWARENESS

As the Lone Tree PD chaplain, I grew tired of carrying handout materials around in a notebook.

To help extend awareness of my chaplain role I created a small area in the volunteer cubical called the “Chaplain’s Corner.”

Signage clearly says –

Help yourself to any of these materials

Plus, it is located in the high foot traffic area, between the patrol officers’ desks, lieutenants’ offices & a shared breakroom.

An overhead cabinet stores extra material.

Routine handout materials include:

Get Your Financial Affairs in Order –       NEEDED BASICS – last will & testament, living will, power of attorney, transfer on death deed, funeral declaration, tenant in common advantages, etc.
