Foundations of Grief: Essential tools for helping others and resilience skills as the first responder

This session will cover the Foundations of Grief to include factors influencing the grief process, differences in how we grieve, and grief models that help us understand the complexity of grief. There will be a focus on building essential tools for helping others as well as building resilience skills as the first responder.

Kelly Karavousanos is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Thanatologist, and Licensed Funeral Director with over 25 years of experience in grief and mental health care. She is the Community Outreach Director at the Heartlight Center and is in private practice. Kelly is a sought-after speaker and educator on grief, resilience, leadership, and navigating change, known for her compassionate, practical, and engaging approach.
